How to connect your WooCommerce store to Square?

To connect your WooCommerce store to Square via Syncy, obtaining a Square Access Token is an essential first step. This access token enables the Syncy plugin to securely communicate with your Square account, allowing for seamless synchronization of products, inventory, orders, and payments.

Step 1: Log in to the Square Developer Portal

  • Visit the Developer Dashboard: Start by signing in with your existing Square account credentials at the Square Developer Portal. This dashboard is where you’ll manage your applications and tokens.

Step 2: Create a New Application

  • Add a New Application: Click on the + New Application button to start creating your integration.
  • Name Your Application: Choose a meaningful name, such as “WooCommerce Sync,” to easily recognize this plugin’s integration with your Square account.
  • Create Application: After naming, click on Create Application. This step will generate the configuration that links Syncy to your Square account.

Step 3: Obtain Your Square Access Token

  • Select Your Application: Once the application is created, select it from the list displayed in your Developer Dashboard.
  • Navigate to Credentials: Go to the Credentials tab, and make sure to choose the Production environment (to handle live transactions).
  • Get Your Personal Access Token: Here, you’ll find the Access Token. This token is very sensitive and must be kept secure.
  • Copy Your Access Token: Click on the Copy button next to the token to store it in your clipboard. This token will be required during the WooCommerce configuration.
  • API Version: Use the default API version unless otherwise specified.

Step 4: Configure Your WooCommerce with Square Integration

  • Navigate to Syncy Settings: In your WordPress dashboard, go to Syncy > Settings.
  • Paste the Access Token: Paste the Square Access Token you obtained into the designated field to link WooCommerce with Square.
  • Ready for Syncing: With your access token set up, your Syncy plugin is now ready to start syncing your WooCommerce store data with your Square account.

Next Step: Setting Up Webhooks for Real-Time Syncing

To complete the integration, set up webhooks for real-time data synchronization between WooCommerce and Square. Follow this link for the webhook configuration guide.
